A beautiful day for a loop through De Wieden. I start in Sint Jansklooster. Walk past the statue of Evert van Benthum to the Wieden visitor center. There I first walk over the boardwalk and then over the laarzenpad (boot path). The latter truly lives up to its name and I am glad to have waterproof shoes

Between showers, a loop through the Woldlake forest (never heard of it) in De Weerribben National Park. The route largely follows unpaved paths. These are quite muddy after the rain of the last few days, so waterproof shoes are not an unnecessary luxury. Beautiful walk.

Beautiful, varied route with forest, small lakes, fen and heath. A lot of logging is taking place in the forest, which has ruined many paths. Today a walk along the Dutch - Belgian border. A very varied circuit with a nice, meandering river, the large heathland, the Leenderbos and as a start or finish the Achelse Kluis. Here you can still see the remnants of an exhibition. Not much else, because the Achelse Kluis is closed on Mondays.

Nice loop on the Kampina, which is currently very dry. Along the way I met a hiker who was on his way to Santiago de Compostela. We had a nice chat and in no time I felt like I was back on the Camino myself. The conversation lingered in my mind for the rest of my walk.....

The weather is a bit uncertain, hence a route was chosen that can easily be shortened.
This slow tour near Schoonloo is highly recommended. Heather, forest, meadows and almost entirely unpaved. At this time of year you will encounter the most beautiful mushrooms. Enjoy!

Today for the first time a round with my new trail runners and with toe socks. What a success! Really ideal for easy paths.
The walk across the Klenckeveld is also recommended. Very varied and largely unpaved.
