Skyreholme Bank Gravel Climb

Highlight • Viewpoint

A long gravel road climb from Skyreholme village at 100m to the summit at 510m, pretty exposed so check the weather but you'll be rewarded with incredible views and a brilliant doubletrack descent heading West!

Carle Fell Road

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

Fun but over too quickly! Get ready to put your saddle back up and drop the gears down.. It is followed by an evil climb that is a real challenge (at least it isn't rocky as its all concrete so at least the surface is consistent).

Busk Lane Byway

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

One of a confusing variety of Busk Lanes in the area (the word 'Busk' simply means clearing in the - now nonexistent - forest). This is a great paved track with some spectacular views, which can nevertheless hold startling quantities of water when the weather is inclement.

It's also a Byway Open To All Traffic (BOAT) which means you will encounter the occasional 4x4, so keep an eye out.

107 km

Apedale Road

Highlight (Segment) • Natural

Disused lead mine workings pepper the Apedale Road - in fact the workings here were so substantial, and so remote, that a series of structures was made to house the miners. Everywhere you look are shale piles, old workings or enormous holes dug into the countryside.

Dales Bike Centre & Café

Highlight • Cafe

Food, cake, coffee, tea, cake, accommodation, bike hire, route suggestions, cake, an excellently stocked bike shop, and cake. Honestly, what more do you need?

The cafe is open 7 days a week 09:00 - 17:00, as is the bike shop - which also opens until 19:00 on Wednesdays.

Langcliffe Scar

Highlight • Climb

Langcliffe Scar is the name given to the rock face limestone, overlooking the village of Langcliffe in Ribblesdale, the Yorkshire Dales. It's also the name given to this road cycling climb which is very well known, named as one of Simon Warren's top 100 cycling climbs in the UK from the village up, with an average gradient of eight per cent but ramping up to 20 per cent in places!
