Bad Wimpfen wurde 2025 vom Online-Reisemagazin Travelbook zur schönsten Altstadt Deutschlands gekürt. Es hat einen hübsche kleinen, sehenswerten Altstadtkern. Trotzdem gefällt mir z.B. das wenige Kilometer entfernte Besigheim noch besser und so manche Altstadt in Deutschland kann bei diesem Vergleich auch mithalten.
Eigentlich liegt es mir fern, jeden kleinen Stadtspaziergang hier auf Komoot zu veröffentlichen. Bei meinen Vorbereitungen für unser jährliches Familien-Fahrrad-Wochenende bin ich über dieses Städtchen gestolpert und hätte es nicht gezeigt, wenn es mich nicht auf ein Highlight im benachbarten Bad Rappenau aufmerksam gemacht hätte.
Dort habe ich das Bikini-ART-Museum entdeckt und konnte mir nicht recht vorstellen, wie so etwas aussehen soll.
Da wir vorzeitig angereist sind, hatten wir Zeit, uns dieses Museum anzusehen und ch muss sagen, das Thema wurde sehr gut umgesetzt. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail und großem Aufwand wird hier der Weg dieses Kleidungsstücks bis zu seiner heutigen Form dargestellt.Uns hat´s Spaß gemacht und vielleicht habe ich den einen oder anderen unter euch jetzt auch neugierig gemacht😁

Bad Wimpfen was named Germany’s most beautiful old town by the online travel magazine Travelbook in 2025. It has a charming little historic center that’s definitely worth seeing. Still, I personally like nearby Besigheim even more, and there are quite a few other old towns in Germany that could easily hold their own in a comparison like this.
I don’t usually feel the need to post every little city walk here on Komoot. While preparing for our annual family cycling weekend, I stumbled across this little town and probably wouldn’t have shared it if it hadn’t led me to a highlight in neighboring Bad Rappenau.
That’s where I discovered the BikiniARTmuseum, and I couldn’t quite imagine what a museum like that would actually look like. Since we arrived a little early, we had time to visit the museum, and I have to say, they’ve done a really good job with the whole concept. With great attention to detail and a lot of effort, the exhibition traces the history of this particular piece of clothing and how it evolved into the form we know today. We had a lot of fun, and maybe I’ve made one or two of you curious enough to check it out yourselves 😁
