I could no longer shift the front derailleur. I didn’t notice it on the climbs, but on the descents the front chain kept dropping repeatedly, so I had to abandon the ride and head home. I replaced the front derailleur cable. While adjusting the rear derailleur, I noticed that the end adjust bolt was out of position. This turned out to be the cause of the chain drops.

It’s been a while since I did some maintenance. Checked the pedals, brakes, chain, and the TPU tube. Come to think of it, it’s been a year since I started using the TPU tube, and even though I replaced it, it never got a flat. Maybe the tires are just that good — Schwalbe Marathons are really tough.
