Third and final day of our New Forest mini-break and I think it was my favourite.
This was mostly on the moors, covered with heather, gorse, and ferns, small hills and shallow valleys with streams and bogs.
Great weather, breathtaking views. And lots of horses, of courses.
A short detour through a forest of giant pines, then a couple of km along the old train tracks, straight, flat, and lovely.
Finished in the small village of Burley with a pint and snack in the Queen's Head, before realising that the bus we were going to get back had stopped running until next year so we had to call a taxi instead.
