The Keuka Outlet Trail runs for about 11km from Dresden to Penn Yan, NY. The Crooked Lake Canal with its 28 locks was on this route to connect Seneca Lake with Keuka Lake in the 1800s. The Fall Brooke Coal Co. operated a railroad on this route from 1885 to 1972.
The trail has several rough sections; so you will need 40 mm tires min.
The loop around the Keuka Peninsula is paved and was very pleasant to ride, almost no cars. The loop is lined with lake houses.
Keuka Lake is an abnormal finger lake due to its Y-shape, not a true finger lake in that sense.
