Day one of a fantastic two day scrambling adventure in Eryri national park, expertly guided by James from Beyond the Edge, with the intention of learning rope skills for scrambling and upping the difficulty levels, with routes being graded 2 and 3 with the odd move or pitch straying into climbing.
Following the lakeside path in Cwm Idwal, to the foot of the Idwal buttress, the route ascended the Idwal buttress, then onto the slightly more tricky continuation before a short walk across to the Cneifion Arête, where things stepped up a level again. A steep climb for the first 10m leading onto a tricky squeeze up a chimney before arriving at the exposed crest, following this to the gribbin at the top. A fantastic day, can’t wait to do this one again👍🏼
