Finally back out in nature after a long, slow recovery from an eye issue
Having been tested with a nerve issue in my right eye causing double vision, the last couple of months were challenging, but making a full recovery has left me deeply grateful. I’ve learnt the hard way not to overlook the simple things in life — and exploring nature again has felt better than ever.
No better companion for the return than Avid Explorer. Another reunion hike, but more of a socialising session disguised as exercise.
One of the key highlights was when I decided to chase after a fat sheep that could barely run for its life. We also saw a herd of skinny sheep with pointy ears that looked like they’d been bred with reindeer.
Just when it felt like it was winding down, the final stretch turned into a push back to reality as we jogged the last few kilometres to make the train station on time.
Despite everything over the past few months, today felt like a reminder that strength returns slowly through prayer and patience, step by step. Alhamdulillah for recovery, good company, and being back out in nature again.
