This ride is a breathtaking loop through the rugged Kuči region, tracing the dramatic Cijevna River Canyon (also known as the Cemi River). It’s a route of sharp contrasts: you’ll transition from the crystal-clear, turquoise waters of the canyon floor to the dizzying heights of the Delaj balcony viewpoints, where the mountainside drops nearly a kilometer down to the riverbed. This journey is as much about the "hike" as the "bike," especially as you navigate the steep, stony serpentines of the Delaj ascent and the hidden forest roads.

Near the start of your journey in Dinoša, the Cijevna River narrows into a series of white-water chutes and deep pools. While locals jokingly call a nearby dam-fed drop "Niagara Falls," the real magic is in the natural canyon viewpoints where the water’s color is an unbelievable shade of emerald. Dinoša is also famous for a rare biological phenomenon: a centuries-old mulberry tree that gushes water like a fountain after heavy rains.

During the Cold War, this rugged borderland between Montenegro and Albania was part of the "Iron Curtain". The area was heavily guarded, and you can still find remnants of old military posts and bunkers tucked into the karst landscape.

As you climb toward Delaj, keep an eye out for the Egyptian vulture or the Golden eagle, which nest in the high canyon cliffs. The region is a "Monument of Nature," home to over 800 plant species, including the rare "Serbian phoenix flower" (Ramonda serbica), which can "resurrect" even after being completely dried out.

The viewpoints near Delaj offer some of the most spectacular panoramas in the Balkans. From these "balconies," you aren't just looking at a river; you are looking across an international border into the Albanian Alps (Prokletije), with the village of Cijevna visible deep in the valley below.
