Filstalgucker round at Geislingen an der Steige. Past fields and through forests. Nice round.
Never seen so many porcini mushrooms and stink morels in one place. And certainly not in mid-July. 😃
On October 13th In 2020 I did the Lion Trail and actually wanted to do it again in the spring or summer, but that didn't work out, so it was my plan today. Initially still foggy and fresh we started in Türkheim, then over fields and fields, the wind increased more and more. Really autumnal🍁. Wonderful paths, for the first few hours we were all alone. There are always wonderful views from the Ostlandkreuz to Geislingen. Which I don't like, but we have cities😂😂. But everything around is great. The sun was shining strongly but the wind was also very strong, so it stayed quite cool. Back in the direction of Türkheim, two hikers came towards me and tataaaaa Zoya was the first to be recognized! There was Lexie with her husband! The burner !!! We could only meet because the two of them went the tour the other way around! So I didn't expect anything like that at all. Lexie! That was really great! We should have taken a picture! But you only think about it when it's too late 😳. I hope you also had a great tour and arrived home safely! There are two more great viewpoints along the way. Beautiful to see the Hausener Wand, as well as e.g. the Fuckseck. The weather was perfect and you could see far. The tour is relaxed and pleasant to go through the few meters in altitude, but on great trails with great views. I wish you a nice evening ☀️🍁🍀🌸🙋♀️🐾
After I was in Budapest last weekend and walked countless kilometers there, today on my free weekend I wanted to do another Lion Trail. I chose number 4/16 and the Filstalgucker. Unfortunately, the hike didn't really appeal to me, there weren't many highlights for my taste. Every bench with a "view" was overgrown, there was a lot of garbage everywhere and I even saw 2 bras... I have questions?! 🤣🤣 I liked the three other trails that I walked much better. It's a shame, but the main thing is that I got some exercise and spent time in nature. 🦁🌱
Did the next lion path today, the Filstalgucker. The tour is halfway flat with always beautiful views. The route is varied, but also stretches in parts. But overall a nice round.
Gardening was the order of the day yesterday, so we packed our hiking things early today and set our sights on a lion path that we haven't walked yet. The conditions for this were great: top paths, almost not muddy and we were practically on our own until the afternoon. The Geiselsteinhaus is still open at the moment, so food was also secured 😋... Conclusion: great round with many opportunities to look down into the valley.
A tour with many viewing rocks on the Filstal.
Today we went to Geislingen an der Steige - the day had a lot to offer, especially the weather. Starting at 6 °C and a few last grains of sleet, the sun even appeared a little on the way from the WP near the Ostlandkreuz to the Kahlenstein - with a view of Bad Überkingen and the Filstal. After a short tour through Türkheim, we continued with a mix of 🌧 ☁️ ⛅ across meadows and fields, through beech forests and then on narrow paths always along the Albtrauf - with views of the Rohrachtal from the Tiroler Felsen and Geiselstein. After a while I reached the impressive Ostland cross on the Schildwacht, which towers high above the town of Geislingen. The view into the valley and into the distance showed the approaching 🌧 - but I didn't think it would be there so quickly and I had to hurry. The temperature had now dropped to 0 °C and in the last few meters to the WP it started to 🌨. After this varied and promising tour, we headed home. I've attached a few pictures of it - the wintry Alb and the great sunset were simply 🤩. Back in Metzingen there was a 👍🏻 shining vineyard in Neuhausen to see - nice to look at, but with a serious background.

For those who travel by train in an environmentally friendly way, we recommend climbing from Geislingen Steige train station through the old town up the old Türkheimer Steige.
