Nice relic of the train traffic of that time. Unfortunately impassable because bottomless.

A beautiful hike on a variety of trails: asphalt, gravel, forest paths with and without roots—it's got it all. Along the Gottleuba River in the heart of Saxon Switzerland. Normally, the route would take 2.5 hours. But because we discovered a lost place, we were delayed a bit, and ended up walking for about 4 hours.

From the free car park at the mine, follow the signs over the old railway line. Although the Gottleuba runs parallel to the road, it is more than a recommendation due to the many small waterfalls, small clear pools of water, moss-covered rocks and natural paths.
One should do the hike in rainy weather. Then you have a rainforest feeling …

Especially with temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius, this is a truly refreshing hike with a Kneipp-like feel. You can dip your warmed-up feet into the cool water every now and then to escape the summer heat. Throw in a bit of geology and film history, and—et voilà—your afternoon walk is complete with a cooling effect.

A really nice tour. The way there was much nicer than the way back. It was relatively boring, just through the forest. But it was great and still great for 14-year-olds. So relaxing.

Today a nice start hike in Saxon Switzerland. An idyllic, leisurely circular hike along the babbling Gottleuba. The stream meanders between moss-covered boulders and small waterfalls flow over large sandstone blocks. The fascinating whirlpool holes have been washed into the rock by the stream over the centuries. We missed a junction on the way back and then walked through the …

Today an interesting combination started with a visit to the mine🪖⚒️ including a mountain lake❗
Therefore, another 1km (no GPS in the mountain) needs to be added to the distance... Good luck ❗
Then a slightly more humane but fantastically beautiful round with the Forellensteig as a picturesque highlight🏞️ 🤩
Afterwards, after a short coffee break, there is a …

Unfortunately, the battery gave up on the last meters.
S is a very nice round. From the parking lot at the visitor mine via the old railway embankment (Pirna - Gottleuba) to Langenhennersdorf and then just above the road and then following the trout trail, past the Zwieselmühle and back. Very suitable for tours with children or seniors.
