Drachenfels Castle is definitely worth a climb. A great experience, and not just because of the beautiful view. Exploring the structure of this castle is a real adventure, as it differs significantly from the usual castles.

Yesterday we finally went to the Bären-Steig, which had been planned for quite a long time. The last time I wanted to tackle the tour, rocks were closed because of nesting birds. Now the breast season is over and there were no more restrictions.
The official starting point is at the cemetery in Bruchweiler-Bärenbach. From there you can get to …

To get this straight: I didn't encounter any wild bears on the Bear Trail, there were no dragons on the Drachenfels either, and on the Geierstein rock massif... well, you probably already guessed. 🤷🏻
Apart from that, I really enjoyed the tour – great trails, beautiful views, and the Drachenfels castle ruins, a super highlight to explore.

The highlight of the Bären-Steig near Bruchweiler Bärenbach is the Jüngstberg and the Drachenfels ruins. Some of the trails, which give the tour part of its name, are also hiked. However, these mainly occur in ascent and descent.
A large parking lot at the cemetery serves as an entrance hiking portal. Here you can first find out more detailed information …

Photos and explanations follow. So much can be said... a great tour... and an incredibly beautiful hiking country

The highlight of this Bären-Steig tour is certainly the Drachenfels ruins, otherwise not to be compared with the rock tour

Today we ran the Bärensteig with Katja and Daniel. The tour began a bit sluggishly, the paths at the beginning were not very inspiring, rather wide than narrow, with gravel instead of soft forest floor. Fortunately, this soon changed and we enjoyed beautiful paths and views. The Drachenfels is also absolutely worth seeing and the view from there is great. …

This is a great tour highly recommended. Almost only in the forest 🌳 pleasant even in the heat 👍 The highlight is the Drachenfelsen castle ruins

We have once again taken a premium hiking trail from the very (!!) extensive selection of the WANDERarena Pfalz and the WANDERarena gives the following headline:
"Fantastic views, varied landscapes, great panoramas and attractive vantage points characterize the premium hiking trail "Bären-Steig" near Bruchweiler-Bärenbach."
