the Hamerfort and Fort Erica are on either side of the lock. Especially from the cattle grid bridge, walk straight ahead into the dead end of the Hamerfort. Maybe you can spot a Kingfisher who have their nest here

Nice recommended route, with on this warm first day of May (29 degrees🔆) a nice terrace halfway for a cold coke and a cappuccino.

Bird-rich area with various lookouts. In the second part of the walk also a number of longer boardwalks, through a more wooded part.

Nice varied walk that has been on my wish list for some time (inspiration by several Komoot friends including @Miranda). The walk was beautiful beyond expectations. We unfortunately missed a hunting osprey. Better luck next time!

The Naardermeer is a beautiful area and therefore very nice to walk again, but then the other way around.
After 8 kilometers in the Melkmeent polder (see "1" on the map) I was confronted with large grazers that were lying on a concrete dam that I of course had to cross. Going back was not an option, so through marshy …

Beautiful varied blue posts route of Natuurmonumenten.

3 nice food and drink options along the way.
City view
Porterhouse at Fort Uitermeer
Molen de Bistro. For the latter you have to deviate from the route.

Lots of stray cattle, bird hide, lots of pasture, small piece of forest with lots of mosquitoes...
You rarely walk in the shade.

This walk was highly recommended by @Marc so I copied it from him and tried it today (thanks!). What a beautiful and varied walk. I really enjoyed it. There were not many cyclists on the bike path and I crossed a few people walking. Very calm and relaxed area.

A very beautiful nature reserve thanks to @Marc for the inspiration! 🙏erson

The Naardermeer itself cannot be seen very often during this round, but when it can be seen, it is really very beautiful.
Furthermore, you walk almost all the time in a beautiful nature reserve.
About half way through the route you will arrive at Gasterij Stadzigt, a catering …

Very nice walk through and around the Naardermeer. Mostly via the narrow hiking trails outside the surrounding roads. Forest, water and tranquility with picnic tables along the way and Fort Uitermeer and Gasterij Stadzigt for a terrace visit. The Naardermeer is part of Natuurmonumenten and has its own rules.

In 1905, Jac.P. Thijsse founded the Association for the Preservation of Natural Monuments. The aim of this association was to preserve the Naardermeer and to prevent it from becoming a landfill for the city of Amsterdam. This association subsequently purchased the Naardermeer area for 155,000 guilders. Rondje Naardermeer runs around the nature reserve that is not accessible to hikers. It …
