The Kriemhildenstein is also called Steiner Nadel or Käshafen and is 34 meters high. You can climb on it.

A really nice hiking trail. It's great to walk here on a narrow hiking trail. It is less suitable for strollers etc.

Rötzen Cliffs

Highlight • Viewpoint

Great vantage point with a view into the distance. You should have a head for heights to get to the top of the rock formation (crevice)!

The bench invites you to rest and linger. The way here is quite steep and runs on rooted and stony paths.

Small refuge that is a bit off the tour. Nice view of the four castles (Ramburg, Neuscharfeneck, Trifels and Madenburg)!

April 9, 2023,Gossersweiler-Stein Felsenweg
Today we did a tour together with @Tanja & Hamlet🐶 mit Luna im ❤️en for the first time. We were on the Felsenweg:

Curly and Hamlet got along well from the start and it turned out to be a very nice tour. There were a few nice narrow paths and with the Rötzenstein one of the classics of the …

Pre-tour for the "easy hike" of our PWV local group. First steep ascent to the Eichelberg and the "Schöne Aussicht" (Beautiful View), but unfortunately you can't see much. However, it's a quiet resting place on the rock, for contemplation. Then steeply downhill, as it was raining I had to be very careful not to step on the tree roots. The …

Unfortunately, the weather forecast was right today and the fog didn't clear. But we still went on the route we had planned for a while.

It was a varied walk but with the two climbs it was challenging in the current weather. Unfortunately, there are also a few roads on the tour but it is pleasantly quiet.

Today we chose the Gossweiler-Stein Felsenweg because of the sunny weather.
Loaded the GPX file at Outdooractive to be on the safe side, drove to the hiking car park in Gossweiler and off we went.
Unfortunately, the GPX file had nothing at all to do with the original route at the beginning and later on it always had nothing to …

Today we started with great hiking weather. Had a great rock tour with great views. Was really great. 🌞👍👍

A beautiful hike to the impressive red sandstone cliffs around Eichelberg and Rötzenberg. Challenging ascents and descents on idyllic, quiet forest paths are rewarded with stunning views across the Palatinate Forest. One of my favorite rocks on the trail is the gigantic Rötzenfels 👌🫶 and then directly back to Gossersweiler past the Iselmannsteine.
