Kranjska Gora

Highlight • Settlement

Great little town with flair right on the Tri Glove National Park 6 km from Austria and 20 km from Italy. Plenty of accommodations and centrally located. Despite the sunshine you can feel the coolness of the mountains on the beautiful river Pišnica. Here we have stopped off and recovered from the 8-day hike a bit. In the distance you can still see the impressive mountains.
This also seems to be a cycling paradise, ranging from rentable wheels and e-bikes to the excellent signposted bike lanes and tours with km specifications and recommendations for bike types.

Day 3: Kranjska Gora

We headed to Slovenia today in perfect weather.

27°C🌡...it was warm today, actually a bit too warm, but we're not complaining 😉

It was a fantastic 💣 hike with many beautiful nature experiences 👍

An easy valley walk between Kranjska Gora and Godz Martuljek, following the Sava Dolinka River and then entering the Martuljek Waterfall Gorge (a slightly exposed section; suitable footwear recommended). Return via forestry roads and a short steep section on a forest trail.

Amazing place, beautiful scenery 🤗
There are two steep etaps, each around 15 min long, but other than that it is quite doable for someone with normal fitness level 😄
After you finished, you can have a nice meal at Vino Alpino, amazing all slovenian cuisine and wines, highly recommend it! 🥰
A beautiful, varied hike. The first 4.5 km are challenging in places. There was no GPS reception in the narrow gorge at the beginning. Up by the lake, there are pubs and a nice ice cream parlor.

Today, as a "stopover," we're planning an extended hike from Kranjska Gora via the Jasna Lakes and the Martuljek Gorge with its waterfall and impressive gorge-like ravine. The waterfall involves some scrambling, but the effort is truly worth it. Numerous forest paths from the Jasna Lakes to the waterfall offer beautiful views of the mountains and surrounding villages.

Nice route connecting Jezero Jasna and Martuljek Waterfalls. Pity that the path to the 2nd waterfall is not accessible anymore.
Didn't expect it before we started but this half day trail (4-5 hrs) has it all. Canyon, mountain, forest, waterfall, river, lake, gravel, wooden bridges and a cosy city. Also enjoyed a few adventurous climbs and descends. We started from Godz Martujlek towards the mountain which means all the hard work is in the first half. After that the only …
