From the dam you have a wonderful panoramic view. But on weekends it's very crowded here when the weather is nice. No place where you can enjoy the peace!

Walking the bridge is really great. Due to the corona, this is currently only possible in one direction, on the dam wall next door you can then go back and see the imposing bridge from the side.

May 11, 2025,Wanderung von der Rappbode Talsperre über die Wendefurter Talsperre nach Neuwerk
Anyone seeking peace and quiet and enjoying hiking will find this trail perfect. Great forest trails and beautiful scenery. Currently, the trail is also suitable for hurdlers due to the many fallen trees 🌲.

Today started quite early. Our goal:
The "Titanium RT"
At 458m, it is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Germany and the second longest in the world. It towers 100m above the Rappbodetalsperre. This in turn is the highest dam in Germany.
All sorts of other things are offered here on site. In combination with the ticket for the suspension …

The weather was great in the Harz Mountains. Admittedly, I won't say that tomorrow 😉, but today was absolutely beautiful. We crossed the Titan suspension bridge, which was very pleasant early in the morning, even though there was already quite a bit of hustle and bustle at the Bode Dam. That was quickly forgotten on the hiking trails, though. We …

A beautiful circular tour from Neuwerk (near Elbingerode). The walk over the titanium suspension bridge is a fantastic experience and currently costs from €7.50 per person.

The route is very varied but also physically demanding. The last 3km are quite challenging and include several climbs and many sections with fallen trees that must be climbed over or under. You really …

Wonderful tour from the suspension bridge along the reservoir and through the Bodetal

Showing Translation

Adventure, beautiful architecture, beautiful landscapes and curves, curves, curves... Only the Harz can offer this! 😊🏍️🌳🌲🌲

First, there's a lot of hustle and bustle at the observation tower and the suspension bridge. Then, a beautiful circular trail with some narrow and steep paths. And often like an obstacle course; I've never seen so many fallen trees on one hike.

Our goal was to see whether it was possible to view part of the artwork at the Rappbode Dam without walking over the suspension bridge.
