A hard, stinking wet day was spent taking in six Wainwrights around the Troutbeck hills in a loop from Troutbeck, namely Sour Howes, Sallows, Yoke, III Bell, Froswick, and Troutbeck Tongue. With the rain and low cloud forecast, we chose to walk a long easy ridge just to knock off some tops. That …
Began the walk from Jesus Church in Troutbeck where parked on the roadside. Headed back over the bridge & took the footpath on the left leading to the Garburn Pass. At the top of the pass turn left & head up to the summit of Yoke. From there follow the ridge along to Ill Bell,Froswick & Thornthwaite Crag. Retraced our …
