If you have reached the parking lot after a difficult drive. it is only a short hike to the beach. The path itself is not difficult to walk. On the way there you have a fantastic view. Absolutely worth it.

Beautiful path through an almost surreal lunar landscape to the Balos lagoon. Maybe it was also the time of year. Halfway there is the possibility of being carried by donkeys.

The descent from the parking lot is a breeze for hikers. However, the drive high over 7 km of washed-out gravel road takes a lot of nerves. If we had assessed it that way beforehand, we might have done without it. But it was nice in the bay, and not so crowded this late in the year.

The “Caribbean” beach of Ballos is definitely not an insider tip. But on a Saturday in March, the crowds are limited and the colors are particularly bright.

From the parking lot (reachable via a long gravel road) (3 €), it goes down about 150 m over 1.5 km to Balos beach! Here a beautiful sandy beach and lots of other tourists await you - and unfortunately also very strong wind that pushed directly into the bay, which considerably reduced the beach fun ... on the way back …
