If you like butterflies, go there! On the north bank you will be attacked and fluttered about. In addition to the peacock butterfly and the brimstone butterfly, there are at least 5 other species. Unfortunately difficult to photograph.

Taking advantage of the sunny weather! 🌞🏊‍♀️🥾💚

Today I explored Lake Maxsee near the village of Hoppegarten (not Berlin). Unfortunately, the lake smells bad and isn't the clearest, so swimming from the bathing area to the peninsula wasn't all that enjoyable.

This time, Komoot didn't record the water routes again. What a shame!

Beautiful walk between sand hills and the sparkling water of Lake Maxsee, cranes calling and geese flying overhead, beaver tracks on some trees, a few anglers sitting on the bank, otherwise hardly anyone around. Very quiet, very peaceful, very beautiful.

The Maxsee has been on my list for a long time. Thanks to my left/right weakness, I ended up there on my bike in the summer and found it so beautiful that I decided to walk around the lake. The lake is almost completely surrounded by forest, the banks are surrounded by swamp forest and some marshland. Narrow paths almost …

Lake Maxsee lies there as if someone had poured a piece of tranquility into the landscape. Nestled between Müncheberg and Hoppegarten, tucked away in Brandenburg's reserve, without much fuss. Not a postcard picture, but beautiful for that very reason. This isn't about spectacle. This is about walking.

Already yesterday, on one of my walks, it smelled so wonderfully of spring. So, is it any wonder that the sweet scent beckons you outside? Since it's been some time since I've been to Maxsee, I decided to go there on a whim. I also wanted to browse the bookstore to see if there was anything interesting there. And yes, …

The surroundings of the Maxsee are worth a visit in any weather.
Come rain, snow or shine... cold or warm.
There is always something to discover and nature has one or two surprises in store.
The benches invite you to linger and if you carry a thermos flask with a hot drink, the wind doesn't bother you either.
So you …
