The "Neue Mühle" estate on the Maxsee was first mentioned in 1317. The owners included the bankers Georg von Siemens and Max Steinthal. The latter was a director and board member of Deutsche Bank. At the end of the 19th century, Deutsche Bank financed the Berlin elevated and underground railways under his leadership. After the war from 1948 to 1990, the mill was, among other things, a holiday home for the NDPD in the GDR. The estate has been privately owned since 2000. The purchase price went to the descendants of the Steinthal family.
