Salinental Graduation Towers

Highlight • Monument

Not only nice to drive past, but also to take a deep breath and breathe in the brine mist. It is best to plan a quarter of an hour for this.

View of Rheingrafenstein Castle

Highlight • Viewpoint

Very beautiful landscape.
View from the town of Bad Münster am Stein.
Its origins are legendary: the devil is said to have built the castle on the steep, 245 m high porphyry rock. What is certain is that it dates back to the 11th century and was the ancestral home of the Lords of Stein, the later Wild and Rhine Counts.
Since the French troops of Louis XIV blew up the castle in 1689, it has been a ruin and at the same time a landmark of Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg.
The somewhat steep climb is rewarded with a wonderful view of the district and the surrounding area. The Rheingrafenstein castle ruins are located directly and conspicuously in the Bad Münster am Stein district on the other side of the Nahe. The ascent begins adventurously with the crossing of the hand-pulled ferry; it takes about 30 minutes.
In the ferry-free winter time, the Rheingrafenstein can also be easily hiked via the Speckerbrücke in the Ebernburg district.
Definitely worth seeing!

Rotenfels Cliff

Highlight • Natural Monument

The Rotenfels is quite unique in this area not only because of its appearance. It is considered the highest rock face between the Alps and Scandinavia, is of volcanic origin, very popular with climbers and is the habitat of many plants and animals, especially birds of prey. If you take a little break here, you can be sure that you will get to see something interesting.

Great view of Oberhausen an der Nahe.
There is a large chestnut tree in front of the entrance to the Niederhausen-Schloßböckelheim winery.
After the ascent you should take a short break here to enjoy the view!

A worthwhile tour through a beautiful landscape.

Actually, 34 km. After the P...break, I forgot to turn the watch back on.

We took the bike tour with our visiting family from Baden-Württemberg to show them the beautiful Nahe Valley. We traveled by train to Bad Sobernheim and then it was (almost) all downhill to Bad Kreuznach. After just 4 km, we stopped at the "Lieb's" summer café in Bad Sobernheim. We finished the tour with coffee and plum cake in a …

Beautiful tour with great views, unfortunately only 8 ° and rain!

An absolute dream tour in terms of landscape: through the spa park past the salt works, directly along the Nahe, with a view of vineyards and steep, rugged red rocks. A pleasure!

Today we went along the Nahe. From Bad Sobernheim to Bad Kreuznach. We pass the Rotenfels and soon we reach Bad Kreuznach.
There are graduation towers everywhere, some still under construction or being restored.
Cute canals run through the city.
The guest can really let himself be pampered here.
In Bretzenheim we want to visit the remains of an old …
