Finally passable! The construction of the new pedestrian and cyclist bridge over the Werra near Unterrieden had been delayed several times. The old crossing was already closed in 2018. The …

Werra Bridge at Lindewerra

Highlight • Bridge

In the border area Lower Saxony / Hesse / Thuringia one is often reminded of the German division. This beautiful place on the Werra is one of them.

Great bike tour for ages with a little detour to the Hanstein castle ruins. I've never ridden a bike so steeply uphill and downhill 😅 But it was awesome! Even though I wished I had a backpedal brake on the downhills. But whatever. It was just a rental bike.

Great view from the Teufelskanzel. Just as huge is the driveway there. A steep section on a loose, muddy gravel road. No chance of pushing despite the e-bike 😬. The chain is then hooked onto the straight piece (probably connected🤦‍♀️). From the pulpit over the ridge path in the direction of Hansteinburg not really a bike path (trampling path with …

A nice relaxed tour along the Werra. Stop at Pia's Radler-Rast, ate delicious cake 🍰 and sat comfortably in the garden and looked at the water. Continue to visit the great half-timbered town of Bad Soden Allendorf and return to the starting point in Witzenhausen.

Unfortunately, dark clouds are gathering now. And I wanted to go for a swim 🏊 later. We'll see. 😉

Bad Sooden is a very attractive town. But in the heat I preferred to enjoy some headwind. In Witzenhausen I looked at the cherry trees and cycled on the east side of the Werra via the border town of Wahlhausen. Strange what was going on at the time.

And as soon as we get home, it starts thundering and raining. 🥴⛈️ Total disaster. We did everything right. 🤣

And if it's supposed to be easy to drive, even more so. 🤣

A little farewell tour from this really beautiful corner of Germany. We really liked the Werra cycle path in Breitungen and it is just as beautiful and varied to cycle along here. Mostly right along the Werra. There is a state of emergency in Allendorf at the moment because there is a fantastically organized harvest festival taking place there, so …
