Isar Rapids

Highlight • River

At the "rapids" you can see quite well that the Isar is a mountain river. There is also a lot of white water behind Munich.

The cycle paths between Ismaning and Freising are well developed on both sides of the Isar and always offer a beautiful view of the river.

Great viewpoint

Highlight • Viewpoint

Direct access to the Isar via fishing houses, right in the middle of it instead of just there.

In the north of Munich you drive along the wide Isar, always with flat spots where you can cool off a bit on the "pebble beaches". Beautiful landscape.

St. Emmeram Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

St. Emmeram's Bridge, Munich, officially inaugurated on May 13, 2005
St. Emmeram (Emmeran), one of the Three Apostles of Bavaria and Bishop of Poitiers, worked in Bavaria around 700. He founded a monastery in Regensburg, from which the former Imperial Abbey of St. Emmeram emerged. He was martyred in Kleinhelfendorf (south of Aying) in 716, falsely accused. He was initially buried in Aschheim and later transferred to Regensburg. Feast of the Catholic saint: September 22.
Notes on the bridge: The 96 m long wooden truss bridge, built on this site in 1978, was completely destroyed by arson in 2002. In 2003, the city council decided to rebuild the bridge on the same site. The new bridge is a delicate truss structure made of wood and steel and is covered over its entire length. It was opened for use on December 22, 2004, and officially inaugurated on May 13, 2005.

Today, in glorious spring weather ☀️😎, I went on an extremely chaotic 🙈 tour along the Isar River. I had to turn back several times because the water 💦 in the Schwabinger Bach and the Garchinger Mühlbach is currently so high that it's impossible to ride through 🤷🏼‍♂️. This is usually possible in the summer. In some places, the trails …

It was difficult for me to get on the bike today...at first... 🙈
It doesn't happen often, but with the gray sky... but what can you do when it's already the end of the month and you still have to catch up with someone in terms of km... 😅 That's crazy, although a challenge like that is motivation , if …
