From here you don't feel like driving in Germany or Austria anymore. You can tell by the smell, the plants, the stones - the south is near. :)

A superb cycle path along a former railway line, an absolute experience. From Tarvisio onward, it gets even better. More info: alpe-adria-radweg.com/mobile/de

Not every tunnel is a highlight, but the route is very nice for cycling.
This time we waited for a rain shower.

Beautiful route. Unfortunately, about 10km before Venzone the old cycle path is buried and you have to switch to the busy road.

Stage 12. A very relaxed day of cycling. We started in Pontebba. We quickly filled up our water supplies at the drinking fountain, then continued on the railway line for the first 20km to Tarvisio. Not quite as spectacular bridges and tunnels as yesterday, but fantastic views of the Julian Alps. The route goes uphill the whole time, but you …

A very beautiful, varied tour from Sattendorf to Pontebba. Pontebba is a nice, lively place nestled between steep mountains. I wonder if tomatoes ripen there.

After a quiet night, a good breakfast, and a packed lunch, we set off on the fourth stage.
In great cycling weather, we cycled the first 20km leisurely along the Gail River.
We got very close to the border with Slovenia (10km).
Back to cycling, a Berrrg kept us busy for the next 20km.

Started today with cool morning temperatures. After a leisurely roll along the Drau and Gail up to Tarvisio and over the border to 🇮🇹 Italy. Ciao 😎. Downhill along the old railway line to Pontebba; our goal for today. Now a cool one 🍺. cheers

I only started at around 10.30 a.m. in Pontebba and then went to Camporossa - with little incline - but always nice and steady "uphill" on the Alpe-Adria cycle path 😁😂.

Really beautiful views awaited me again on this route 🤩✌️.

The last stage is done. Today we had plenty of company on the track 🤣.

Today we managed the last stage of our crossing of the Alps. We rode the Munich-Venice cycle path from Lenggries, skipped the last part through the Po Valley to Venice and instead rode east along the Alps from Vittorio Veneto until we came across the Alpe-Adria cycle path. We cycled through this to Villach. And tomorrow comes the biggest adventure, …

For me, the most beautiful section of the Alpe Adria cycle path so far 👍 Great bike paths, the meter is cool 😎 and Chiusaforte is simply magical
