A beautiful section of the trail around Hirschhorn. At the "forest sofa" near Hirschhorn, with its view of Hesse, you can sign a boundary book. A great idea from the forestry staff!

Walking along the Neckar with friends is fun even at 4°C. Ok, in the afternoon it was even 10.8°C.
And we had replacement rail services on the route between Neckargemünd and Eberbach. We then cycled the entire route back.

Last part of our tour in the Neckar Valley. With the best weather, it was time to go up to the saddle again and head towards the destination of Mannheim. A highlight shortly after the start. A triathlon was just starting. We still took part in the start in the water and the transition to the bike. Then it was …

From there it went up the Neckar valley to Eberbach.
And always wonderful views.
To the magnificent Heidelberg Castle, past the Neuburg Abbey, through the four-castle town of Neckarsteinach.
Then we drove through Hirschhorn with its medieval mountain hotel, and finally reached Eberbach.
Due to logging work, we had to leave …

It was still relaxing to cycle along the Neckar River, especially towards the end when the sky was shining.
Before that, we had to overcome a few rainy stretches, such as the section up to Hirschhorn Castle or to Heidelberg.

After we slept well in the old bathhouse and strengthened ourselves, we set off on our last stage in sunny ⛅️but cold weather.

After just a few kilometers we reached Hirschhorn. There is a beautiful old town and the castle to admire.

The route went directly along the Neckar through Pleutersbach in Baden to the Hessian border with the great "Grenzbuch" and the …
