April 6, 2025,Zollhausrunde und Burgruine Haltenberg zwischen Lech Staustufe 18 & 19
I was drawn back to the Lech River again, this time between weirs 18 and 19 near Kaufering.

The parking lot is easy to reach, free, and offers several spaces.

I can't really say much about the hike itself, except... I'm absolutely blown away by the natural beauty this loop offers. Simply magnificent. A bit more information along the way …

On the way on the Zoghaus circuit along the Lech for over 9km, 13km for a detour to the Hartenberg ruins. Two different sections. From the customs house (former restaurant, not managed) to the Kaufering barrage, flat and well developed for cyclists. Hikers be careful because of heavy cyclist traffic. On the way, a branch to the Hartenberg ruins is …

On the Bavarian holiday, we met up with a long-time friend to go hiking. At 10 a.m. we set off from a small parking lot near the Hurlach colony. The car navigation system didn't know the way, but maps and komoot did 😊
We walked anti-clockwise towards the dam, here the path is rooty, partly shady and you always have …

Start at the customs house on the Lech. A highlight is Haltenberg Castle, a ruin on the steep bank of the Lech between Scheuring and Kaufering. Today, the complex is the only castle ruin on the entire Lechrain between Donauwörth and Füssen. A little later along the Lechrain you come across another example from prehistoric and early history, on 2 …

We wait for the hailstorm in the car park at barrage 18 near Kaufering, then we start the "Zollhausrunde" through the beautiful river and lake landscape of the Lech.

At first glance it is inconceivable that the Lech is one of several watercourses coming from the Alps that in historical times flowed north to the Danube as typical wild rivers. …

It should be a short walk on the Lech, as I had had a constant headache for days 🤕
After such a beautiful 🌞 day today, we went to the Lech at 13:30 p.m. at barrage 19.
The path was beautifully snowy ❄ and everything sparkled in the sun 🌞.
At some point we arrived at barrage 18 - the …
