    Hiking

The Lechauenweg between barrages 18 and 19 is a narrow forest path mostly close to the Lech. Almost like in a primeval forest, you will always find beautiful spots to linger with a wonderful view over the Lech. Very rich in water birds, which can be easily observed with binoculars, provided you are quiet.

The Lech is a right tributary of the Danube. The 256 km long river rises in Vorarlberg and flows through Tyrol and southern Bavaria, where it flows into the Danube. Shortly before the Austrian-German border, it takes up the Vils, forms the artificial Lechfall in front of Füssen and crosses Swabia and Upper Bavaria on its way. The largest cities on the Lech are Landsberg and Augsburg, where it receives its largest tributary, the Wertach. At Marxheim the river flows into the Danube.
