Since my father and I finished the Fördesteig trail yesterday, we needed a new project. The new father-daughter-dog project is: the Gendarmenstien in Denmark.

Our Ascension Day pleasure this year is the Gendarmenpfad along the Flensburg Fjord on the Danish side 🇩🇰. Gendarmes once patrolled here to spot smugglers trying to get goods across the border without paying duty.

The trail starts in Padborg. Padborg is easy to reach by train 🚆 or car 🚗. There is also plenty of parking here.
