Wiesensee

Highlight • Lake

The Wiesensee - worth a visit at any time of the year. Either for hiking / walking, swimming, cycling, boating, golf, ... In icy winters it freezes over and you can walk across the lake, so to speak.

Our first tour here in the Westerwald.
With the "height" point Hedwigsturm at 523 m.

The Wiesensee currently has low water levels, so that all water activities cannot take place (swimming, pedal boating, surfing...). According to the tourist office, the lake serves as a rainwater retention basin and there is damage to the dam wall and the drain that needs to be repaired. Only then can the normal water level be restored. It is hoped …

It was a nice tour that ended at Brandl. 😀

Showing Translation

Unfortunately, there is not much to see from the Wiesensee at the moment.

Showing Translation

The tour wasn't that great. So much gravel and rough chippings that were signposted as a cycle path. You got shaken up quite a bit.

A short ride with the🚴🚴‍♂️ in dry 🌤 weather through the neighboring villages 🏘 to Wiesen(lake). It's a shame that nothing is moving forward🤔..The café☕️🍺🎂🍯🍪 has closed now because no more tourists come..That's such a shame..Then we headed home via Stahlhofen and Ailertchen..Nice route apart from a few rocky paths but that was manageable.

Showing Translation

It was really cold this morning, partly ground frost in some places, but it was wonderful to drive.
