When this bridge suddenly appears in front of you in the forest, you can only be amazed.
Former railway bridge, was part of the disused railway from Erbach to Bad Marienberg.
Built in 1911 and still like new.

The so-called "Erbacher bridge" over the Nistertal between Hardt and Nistertal-Büdingen in the high WW was formerly part of the railway line from Nistertal-Erbach via Bad Marienberg to Fehl-Ritzhausen. Since the line was shut down, the VG Bad Marienberg could only extend the part of the former railway line from the Nistertalbrücke high to Bad Marienberg to a very good bike path. The bridge construction is probably too expensive or too dangerous, but would be with a further expansion of the former railway line to the station in Nistertal-Erbach to another incentive to hike this tour or explore by bike. Too bad.

Impressive, this bridge. Access is public and possible from both sides. Crossing is also possible. The views from the bridge are great!
