May 16, 2024,Aufstieg zur Lausche (793m + 7m😉)
Stop on the way home to climb the Lausche, the highest mountain in the Zittau Mountains. It is actually 793m high, but they built an observation tower with a 7m high platform - that's how you reach 800m!
The climb up the forest path and the Seilerstiege is very pleasant.

Great view from the platform.

It was supposed to be a picnic on the Lausche with a wonderful view over Upper Lusatia, Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland 🤩 the approaching thunderstorm put a damper on what was actually such a nice thought... Not bad, because the view was still great and was more than worth it 🤩 We still enjoyed the Portuguese we brought with us.

Our standard listening round with garlic soup and goulash. We have never met as many people as today. The totally icy descent on the German side was very amusing

Today, we combined our workshop appointment with a hike in Upper Lusatia, and once again our destination was the Lausche mountain. Uwe had been there more than 20 years ago and was trying to remember the place. I, having lived in Upper Lusatia for 40 years, was able to help him. Unfortunately, it was very windy on the Lausche tower, …

In the most beautiful winter weather, we went to the Lausche today for our first ascent of the year 2023.
The large parking lot at Windgasse was full because the ski lift was also in operation, but there were still a few spaces left at Neusorge at the Lazarus home.
This is also a good starting point for climbing the …

Planned for a long time, today it worked: a hike with a friend to the Lausche. Since she lives in Waltersdorf, we had a private parking space and the first and last few meters led over private property, but otherwise the hike leads over beautiful public hiking trails and the Seiler-Stiege to the highest peak in the Zittau Mountains. There …

Yesterday my car had to be inspected and I spent the waiting time hiking. From the car dealership we took the bus to Waltersdorf, which developed into a small mountain trip due to many detours. At the starting point, too, I first had to walk through a construction site, but then it went across meadows and on paths up to …
