After yesterday's island tour of western Madeira, including Cabo Girão, Ribeira Brava, Porto Moniz, and Paul do Serra, we took a taxi up to the Jardim Botanico today. So, very much in the style of retirees, and still a bit weak from the flu 😉

Strenuous on hot days, 3 km uphill and 3 km downhill back to the city center.
The visit to the Botanical Garden is definitely worth it and worth the effort. There are also very nice views of the city.
You can also travel part of the way by tuk tuk or taxi.

Beautiful city. I especially liked the painted doors. Visited the Military Museum. Then by bus to the wrong mountain and to the botanical garden. It was very flowery again 😊. If you had needed more time for .. back to the port with shared taxi 😊 was a wild ride.
