Plague Column and Fountain on Svornosti Square

In 1843, a stone fountain was added to the Plague Column on Svornost Square, which dates back to 1716, to replace the demolished Renaissance fountain in the middle of the square. The Plague Column, with a statue of the Immaculate Virgin Mary and eight saints, patron saints of the city and protectors against the plague, is the work of the Prague Baroque sculptor Matěj Václav Jakel, and the costs were covered by Princess Marie Ernestina von Eggenberg. On the pedestals are statues of Saints Wenceslas, Vitus, John the Evangelist and Judas Tadeáš, and in the niches of the lower row are statues of Saints Roch, Francis Xavier, Sebestián and Cajetan.

In the Middle Ages, a moat was dug here, which was spanned by a footbridge with a drawbridge. The Cloak Bridge was built here successively in 1686, 1707, 1748 and 1765. Bader Bridge and Castle Tower

On the Barber's Bridge (Lazebnický most), pedestrians can cross the Vltava between Latrán and the Old Town. The current form of the bridge dates from around the 1830s. The steel truss bridge stands on two stone pillars and a central pillar at the beginning of the Vltava Island. The walkway is made of wooden planks. In the middle of the bridge there is a statue of St. John of Nepomuk and a depiction of the crucifixion. In 1830, the previous bridge, a simple wooden footbridge, was badly damaged by vandals. Krumau is worth seeing even without events. But with this festival it is even more special.
We travelled as a group with a local bus company. We had to wait a bit before reaching Krumau. A slot system was introduced for buses here too.
This means that the bus can only drive to the boarding/drop-off point in a specific time …
