April 14, 2022,"SCHWÄBISCHE ALB" auf dem Donau-Radweg 🚵‍♂️
After we arrived here in Beuron (Swabian Alb) yesterday for a short vacation, we did a little bike tour 🚴‍♂️ to roll up.

Today it really got down to business... we cycled on the Danube cycle path to Sigmaringen and back.
The route has it all 🥴 for an untrained person like me.
These brutal climbs got me down 😜 …

We set off towards Sigmaringen on the Danube Valley cycle path in very pleasant temperatures. The valley is very varied on this section. It goes slightly uphill and then back down to the Danube. Lots of canoeists are out and about. The Danube still has a lot of water for this time of year. It has also rained a lot …

Unfortunately, all the restaurants along the route were closed. Either a rest day or a break

The beautiful and still narrow Danube valley continues until just before Siegmaringen. The romantic campsite in Hausen im Tal seems overcrowded. The campsite in Siegmaringen is filled with mobile homes and only has a small camping lawn. No time to see the city as I'm still looking for a more suitable place to stay overnight.

Wonderful tour, 63 km there and back, great landscape, great paths... The Danube is almost always in sight, and the destination Beuron is worth seeing anyway, highly recommended..

The direction from Sigmaringen to Beuron can be taken by train.

we started in Sigmaringen at the parking lot behind the train station (you can park here for free) and our destination was Beuron. Since the railway line from Hausen in Tal was closed and the trains were used by rail replacement services, we drove from Beuron back to Hausen im Tal station and from there by train back to Sigmaringen.
