October 19, 2025,Spandauer Forst..entlang der Kuhlake
Repeat of the tour from April 27, 2025. But this time with a lot of climbing due to the fallen trees from the last big storm.
We didn't recognize the route several times and had to improvise.
I liked the spring tour better...

Back to the Kuhlake, a truly beautiful river landscape in the Spandau Forest. A diverse landscape. Comfortable paths, enchanted trails, waterfowl, blooming mullein, floodplain forest with willow, birch, and alder, and every now and then a new stream; occasionally even a lake. Purely enjoyable hiking in the countryside.

Today's hike begins at Johannisstift and takes us past animal enclosures to Kuhlake. The hiking trail that runs on both sides of the Kuhlake takes us to the ice cellar clearing. From there it goes back to Johannisstift via the Mittelheidesee and the Hoheheideteich. A hike that is recommended at any time of the year.

As you approach the banks lined with ferns, reeds and bulrushes, frogs splash into the clear water, above which dragonflies of …
