This is a stunning waymarked circular route which explores some of the stunning countryside around the town of Ballater.. We opted to take the short detour to Knock Castle which I would highly recommend. We used this as a rest and refuel stop and the views were stunning. Another glorious, sun-soaked day – but the mighty eMTB, the beast, the powerhouse, decided to take a day off. Dead as a door nail. Not even a flicker. So, we switch to Plan B – the Seven Bridges hiking loop around Ballater. Maybe the gods were whispering, "Take it slow, enjoy the walk." We listened.
