Hermann Löns would have been 155 years old now.
For me, the most beautiful thing that has remained of him is the Tietlingen juniper grove.
Wilhelm Asche donated the site in the 1935s in order to bury the (presumed) remains of the writer and poet under a huge boulder.

It's not a very large area, nicely situated and not overcrowded.
When the heather is in bloom, one does not think what an effort it was to keep it that way.
The city of Walsrode recently took over the care of the grove.
Some parts of the area were plowed to remove the old, woody heather bushes.
The Heidschnucken can no longer do that alone.
This used to be done with the hoe, you needed the litter for the stables and for fertilization. Large device is used today.
It takes some time until the new, young heath comes through again.
The city has also cleared the paths, removed trees lying across, everything very carefully.
