With its 162 steps, the Scaletta dello Scorlazzone is among the most challenging "stairways" in Bergamo. Its steep climb begins on Via Sudorno and reaches one of the highest and most enchanting spots in the Città Alta: San Vigilio. Initially enclosed between high dry stone walls, after the last step it levels out slightly and continues on a stone pavement surrounded by stately homes. Gradually, the view opens up to the monuments of the Città Alta on one side and the Astino Valley area on the other.

This sanctuary in honor of the Mother of God contains two remarkable depictions: Firstly, the mural (fresco) that shows Mary and her son in a comparatively simple manner, and secondly, a richly decorated statue of the Madonna. Here, too, she is holding the baby Jesus in her arms, but the manner of depiction is completely different: both she and Jesus are wearing a crown, while Mary is holding a scepter in her other hand. Thus, she is shown here as the "Queen of Heaven." This is in keeping with the heavenly hosts painted to the right and left of the niche, who are paying homage to the mother and child.

The church of Santa Barbara is a hidden treasure of Mount Canto, located a few meters from the remains of the ghost town of Canto. The church is the only surviving building kept in perfect condition. It offers a spectacular panoramic view, where on very clear weather days you can admire the Apennines to the south and the chain of Alps from Monviso to the Bernina glaciers to the west and north. The church is surrounded by an open space with benches and trees, an ideal place for a break or a picnic.

A beautiful view of all the surroundings of Bergamo at the top of the torre civica. You can see the hills of Bergamo, the lower town that extends into the plain and even the towers of the center of Milan. Watch out when the bells ring! There is enough to be frightened and very hurtful to the ears.

Popular memory hands down the tradition according to which the Virgin appeared to a girl, leaving as a sign a prodigious spring of water that healed numerous sick people. It is said that these extraordinary events did not occur again after a woman of the people used the holy water to wash her dog. At the beginning of the eighteenth century the devotion faded and the masonry of the niche with the fresco of the Madonna was decided. During the works, the scaffolding collapsed and this was interpreted as a divine sign and the fresco returned to being an object of worship.

The Sanctuary of the Madonna di Prada is located in a peripheral area of the municipality of Mapello and took this name from the dialectal form "Madonna dei Prati". This area is called "Isola" because it is bordered between the Brembo and Adda rivers and is immersed in the vast plain on the eastern slopes of Mount Canto. The Marian sanctuary of Prada is preceded by a long and suggestive tree-lined avenue. The interior is decorated with frescoes, painted in 1956 by the Mapellese painter Natale Bertuletti
