Nice refuge to stop before or after the climb to the summit. Even when closed it allows you to take shelter and rest while protecting yourself from the heat or bad weather.

As already recommended for the Lupi refuge, not far away, it is a truly special place to enjoy a wonderful sunset.

I would like to add that it is also possible to go up from Zogno with a couple of interesting alternatives

Even though I have been there several times, I have always found it closed, but I do not despair and continue to try because I am curious to understand how it works.

Coming back from the Lupi refuge we widened the route on a different path, coming across the abandoned district of Crosnello. The place is suggestive, once inhabited by shepherds, now it shows only a few signs of human visits, such as a flag and a pot of geraniums. I recommend touching this place during the tour and on the way back, so as not to face a climb too steep under the sun, but leaving it on the way back (you can find the complete route in my profile).

In Catremerio there are numerous shrines and this is undoubtedly the largest.

Situated at 1,094 metres above sea level, it stands on a small rocky ridge, surrounded by meadows and a centuries-old beech forest. The village is made up of a group of houses and stables in ancient stone that date back to the end of the 1500s. Since the Second World War, the district has been uninhabited and only shepherds go up there to take their herds to pasture.
