Lake Costa Brunella is a body of water of natural origin, located at 2,013 meters above sea level, in the shadow of the mighty peaks of the Rava Group. Its capacity was increased in the 1940s for hydroelectric purposes with the construction of a dam.

From the Forcella Quarazza, looking towards the lake below, you can glimpse the Pale di San Martino in the distance, while the peaks around here frame the fantastic panorama.

The magic of the mountains and pure emotion

It is not a refuge

Beautiful stretch of trail along the GRANITE TREKKING route. You walk in the presence of ephemeral rock shapes smoothed by time and truly unusual views. Unless you decide to tackle a peak in the surrounding area (for example, I climbed Cima Caldenave), it is an easy path with some ups and downs that are a bit tiring. I met very few people in September. The only structure present in the marked section is the Costa Brunella Refuge which I found closed, probably for the exclusive use of the service staff at the dam.
