커뮤니티 팁
It is better to start the route via the steep climb and then descend via the flatter side.

Located at an altitude of 2,450 metres, the Carè Alto refuge is named after Dante Ongari (an Italian historian and engineer, president of the Society of Tridentine mountaineers from 1967 to 1969) and boasts around sixty beds. It is open from the beginning of June to the end of September and offers bar service, overnight accommodation and hot showers.

Between the Altar Pass and the Carè Alto refuge you cross numerous streams, but none are as challenging as the Bedù stream in Pelugo. Often full of water, in fact, the stream can be crossed thanks to some steel cables from which you must carefully hang.

Near Lake Lares and below the peak of the same name, the Altar Pass is bare and little-known, but of great charm. There is often a strong wind at the top, but the view from up there is truly splendid.
