LIFE VAIA is a European project involving several international research institutions, including the Mach Foundation. It is a "laboratory" left free to grow, where the forest will grow stronger than ever before. In 40 years, there will be an extraordinary forest rich in biodiversity and perfectly suited to supporting a stable fauna. Now there are bio-hotels for wild pollinators and a few hives for bees that will produce honey—rebirth honey, a honey with a strong flavor. This forest/laboratory also contains demarcated or fenced areas where small fruits and medicinal plants will grow: these are "forest gardens." Nature has told us that forests destroyed by VAIA are weak, and if we want to rebuild a forest, it's better to learn from nature or let nature take its course.

Unique amphitheater wetland in Val Fredda Lases Biotope

Unexpectedly, coming out of the woods the view opens up with a beautiful panorama, recommended especially on a clear day. The place is barren and dry, I find the contrast with the woods all around enchanting: when you return to the trees you feel even more like the forest is full of life.
