taken from the website https://rifugiobranchino.blogspot.com/ Our aim is to revitalize the beautiful "Neel" mountain pasture, in the upper Valcanale, between the municipalities of Ardesio and Roncobello. We renovated the Branchino refuge on the remains of a previous structure, therefore without building anything new. The refuge was built on what remained of the hut for the workers who worked, at the beginning of the century, on the "Branchino dam", a structure of which you can still see, going up, the plinths of the cableway for the supply of material. I have not yet had time to learn more about the fate of this artifact, but it seems that the sides of the lake, although filled with cement to try to waterproof it, have never had the characteristics suitable for the basin and therefore the project was abandoned. Highest point of the high flower path, if you want to do the loop to the Branchino it is better to pass by it on the way back (you get there with a steep scree not recommended for the less experienced)

Pass reachable by climbing from the Gemelli Lakes or from Valcanale. The trail does not present technical difficulties but requires a minimum of physical training. The effort is then rewarded by the wonderful view it offers, in particular of the Arera group, Pizzo Farno and Monte Corte, and obviously of the lake. The pass is very wide and offers several places to stop to rest, eat and admire the landscape. The trail then continues towards the Gemelli Lakes, or towards the Mezzeno pass

Small, with a moderate slope on both sides, it however offers a marvelous view of the surrounding orobie mountains, which in this section are mainly rocky and have vertical walls. Excellent area for souvenir photos! It does not present particular dangers (overhangs or otherwise) as long as you pay attention in case of slippery ground. Like all vents, it is particularly windy
