The Ueckermünde Zoo is known far beyond the borders of the Vorpommern-Greifswald district. The facility was founded in 1962 and has continued to develop since then. What began as a local aquarium with a few additional native animals is now impressive. The enclosures for the individual animal species are spacious, and you can also come into direct contact with many of the animals. There are many enclosures worth seeing on a total of 18 hectares, which were built according to the latest zoological recommendations. In addition to the animal enclosures, you can also learn about farming many decades ago at the zoo and on the adventure farm, and little adventurers can enjoy a ride on the old tractors. A replica of a fully functional Dutch windmill can also be seen in the zoo. The zoo is easy to get to and has plenty of free parking, including for buses.
