In Kratzeburg, the "Flatterhus" is located, a national park information center of the Müritz National Park, dedicated to bats. Visitors can expect an interactive exhibition about these fascinating animals as well as information about the region. The Flatterhus is a starting point for cycling tours and is located on the "SpurenWeg" (track path), which is also accessible for the visually impaired. A special highlight is the annual Bat Night with exciting activities. Kratzeburg is ideal for a nature-based cycling tour in the region.

There is also delicious soup of the day, great home-made cakes and the most beautiful and bee-friendly garden to see.

To power a watermill, a dam was built on the southern shore of the Mühlensee in the Middle Ages, and the lake's water was diverted via the Mühlenbach stream toward Ankershagen. After further human intervention, the Havel source was relocated to its current location in 2007. Stones and information boards at the source provide information about the river's course.
