The construction could have been avoided, as it wouldn't allow you to escape the traffic on the B101. Unfortunately, private/commercial use still takes precedence over bicycles, and so the opportunity to finally make Raschauer Weg accessible from all directions was missed.

— Illuminated from dusk — The 🟣 PURPLE PATH 🟣 is a sculpture trail connecting Chemnitz, the 2025 Capital of Culture, with 38 towns and cities in the region. Numerous artists have contributed works of various kinds, telling a untold story of the region. More information at https://chemnitz2025.de/purple-path/ Nevin Aladağ "Color Floating" on the Dittersdorfer Höhe, Amtsberg Material: Textile Luminous works of art float gently above a water surface, creating a silent poetics of colored light at dusk. The objects are stolen from everyday objects: designer lamps from the 1960s, covered with differently colored and differently textured tights. The Berlin-based sculptor and performance artist Nevin Aladağ – born in 1972 in Van, Turkey, into a Kurdish-Turkish-Iranian family and raised in Stuttgart, Swabia – intervenes with sensuality, imagination, and color in the mining and textile industry town of Zwönitz with her permanent installation Color Floating. Her work celebrates immediate joie de vivre while conveying socially critical content. Color Floating is reminiscent of summer festivals under lanterns, of mystical processions, to serene evenings in the intimacy of the flower garden, while simultaneously questioning the clichés, attributions, and crises of the places where Aladağ exhibits her work: Is everyone invited to the festival here, regardless of their identity or the color of their clothing? Inspired by the Pattern and Decoration movement, the internationally acclaimed artist proclaims a vision of diversity, emotion, and cultural transfer with Color Floating.
