Right next to the train station is a butcher's shop with a snack bar, where hikers can take a break. A beautiful hiking trail to Kemtau begins behind the station.

After work, a covered seating area at the top beckons with a view of the Ore Mountains and (a few meters behind you) Chemnitz.

Forchheim Castle was built in 1558 for Christoph von Berbisdorf. The city of Chemnitz acquired the castle in 1912, as it did with other manors and properties in the area. It needed large areas to build the Saidenbach Dam. Construction was delayed until well after the end of the First World War. The castle was used by the forestry administration and as a children's convalescent home. It later served as the hunting lodge of the notorious Martin Mutschmann. From 1953, Niederforchheim Castle was used as a kindergarten. The outbuildings were demolished in the 1970s. The kindergarten moved out in 1999. The previous year, the castle was purchased privately. From the edge of Ehrenfriedersdorf, a moderate incline (approx. 8%) on a two-lane road towards Freiberg, is followed by a great descent to Wolkenstein and then a wonderful ride through the Heidelbach valley to Zschopau, highly recommended. Almost no traffic!

Simply a brilliant local circuit. Moderate gradient up to Ehrenfriedersdorf and then back again. There is a slightly steeper gradient of up to 10% but relatively short and then a 10 km long descent to just before Zschopau on a very good road surface. The rest from Zschopau to Chemnitz is easy and the Hornauer Straße back to Einsiedel is ideal for "rolling out". You can do the tour every day. Little traffic and in the middle of the green, also important, lots of shade!

Coming from the direction of Hopfgarten, right at the first traffic light before the railway crossing, on the right-hand side, within a small hedge. One bench is broken, but the second is still usable. There is a small stone table and a waste bin. With a view of Scharfenstein Castle.
