This rest area hasn't existed for about two years. There used to be two covered rest areas along the entire route between Güstrow and Bützow. Now there are none, a disgrace for an international cycle route!

Small hotel in an "old" style including parking at the building. Often used by people who spend several days on holiday here with their horses.

The first documented mention of Alt Sammit dates back to 1274. After an eventful history, the castle became private property in 1996 and was renovated. The castle's special jewel can be admired in its ballroom. This is where people danced, dined and discussed politics. A lively red deer frieze from the time it was built has been preserved on the walls and the magnificent stucco ceiling is richly decorated with hunting scenes. The castle museum houses an extensive collection of important paintings, impressive sculptures and precious small art from the Middle Ages from Mecklenburg and northern Germany in the vaults in the basement. In the ducal rooms on the upper floors, the splendor of the former princely residence is brought back to life with paintings and handicraft objects from the Renaissance and Baroque periods, magnificent art chamber pieces and valuable hunting and ceremonial weapons.
