The Fountain of Joy of Life is a fountain located at the central University Square in the center of the Hanseatic city of Rostock. The walk-in fountain is also known locally as the "Porno Fountain."[1] The fountain was created by the sculptors Reinhard Dietrich and Jo Jastram and inaugurated on June 27, 1980.

This rest area hasn't existed for about two years. There used to be two covered rest areas along the entire route between Güstrow and Bützow. Now there are none, a disgrace for an international cycle route!

The first documented mention of Alt Sammit dates back to 1274. After an eventful history, the castle became private property in 1996 and was renovated. When the medieval predecessor was largely destroyed by fire over 400 years ago, the impressive residence was created in its current form. The rest area is on the cycle path from Krakow am See to Güstrow. The path here through the forest is a dream for cyclists. The beautifully designed hut invites you to take a break. The sign is impossible to miss and is made in the same way as so many signs in this area.

The current two-storey manor house, a red brick building with 13 axes, a base made of granite blocks and a hipped roof, was built according to a design by the Wismar architect Heinrich Thormann in 1859.[17] The manor house dates from around 1860/65. The balcony under the entrance is accentuated by balusters. A row of consoles runs under the eaves and yellow bricks decorate the cornices between the floors and window reveals.[18] For static reasons, the mighty tower above the entrance in the middle of the house was demolished after 1888 during the change of ownership between Eduard Krause and Günther Ehlermann. After 1905, the manor house was given its current appearance with neo-Gothic accents through multiple renovations. The historic Güstrow market in Güstrow in the old town is the center of the city. The square was named after the medieval market square on which the town hall and the parish church of St. Mary are located in the center. In 1978 the market was redesigned and the Archimedes sculpture was erected. From 1991 onwards, the historic old town was renovated as a former national area monument and now a model city for urban development, as were the square (2020) and many houses.
