The owners of the historic Villa Baltic have reacted with great disappointment to the decision of the Kühlungsborn city council to reject an increase in municipal funding proposed by the state for the renovation of the building. "The city council has rejected the great opportunity offered by the federal and state governments, who wanted to invest millions to develop the site," said the Oldenburg project developers and brothers Jan and Berend Aschenbeck. They bought the villa in early summer 2019.
